Nature in our garden

Spotted a Burchell's Coucal (Gewone Vleiloerie) in our garden this morning and I just had to share! Had never seen one before and felt so happy that it chose to visit our garden! The photo is shocking - I know - my camera is not the greatest, the zoom is terrible because this was only about 5 meters away from me and you can not see any detail. Still - I was VERY Excited to see it!
We are so thankful that we are so blessed to stay so close to God's wonderful creation on the edge of the city! Praise the Lord for His loving kindness in giving us such beauty to enjoy even though we live in a world so deprived!

Like Mother Like Daughter ;o)

Luzaan went to bed to read tonight. Usually they call us when they are ready to go to sleep but she obviously could not even stay awake to read a bit. David found her like this when he went up to bed and came and called me.
I used to do this very often when we were newly married - so that's why the like mother like daughter.
Elizma, these books really are a hit! She's made many friends through them and every now and then they come out again! So it was not the reading material but probably the fact that she ran around outside the church we visited tonight with her newly found friends (thanks to these books) ;o)

We have such a beautiful country!!!!

We went to fetch the girls from camp this morning and I was so sorry that I did not take my camera along!

I took some photos with my phone and am quite pleased with the quality of some of them! These were taken on the way back home. Cape Town is a beautiful place to be - even in Winter!

The first photo is of the blushing bride protea David and the girls gave me for mother's day last year! It is sooooo beautiful now and covered with flowers! There are so many flowers this year!

Enjoy and praise the Creator God with me for the beauty He gave us!

Off to winter camps

Just a few photos I took of my two little polar bears before I took them to camp on Monday ;o) The third little girl is their friend Stefani.

It was Luzaan's first winter camp and I was told that she made lots of friends very quickly . . . I would have been surprised if she didn't ! They enjoyed it so much and of course they were fine without their mommy (as we all knew they'd be;o) They were fortunate enough to be able to sleep in a room with Jessica (a wonderful role model of a girl from our church). Thanks Jess! They loved it!

Thank you to all who worked hard in preparation, lessons and helped make the time enjoyable for them (Especially Cal and Sue, who were the cooks! Suzelle even ate custard AND loved it ;o)! May the Lord bless you all!

Fiery Cape Town Sunset

I just had to share this wonderful sunset we had last night! Isn't our God a wonderful Creator?! The first photo was taken from our front door. The second has our address in it. Have a wonderful blessed day remembering and serving our Creator God!
